DecoLab – Story of a small family business end up being a top class interior brand in SL
Today, a multitude of people in Sri Lanka embraces DecoLab as the one stop shop for all of their interior needs. Throughout this journey of more than 20 years, our instigators have made unparalleled efforts to transform DecoLab to a renowned, reliable and an entrusted brand in Sri Lanka by fabricating high quality furniture and other interior décor in line with different preferences of customers. Utmost trustworthiness, boundless innovation and top quality workmanship are the unique features that differentiates us from the traditional furniture and deco suppliers in Sri Lanka.
DecoLab was established in January 1999 as ‘Rathnayake and Sons Constructions’ in Madhiwela, Colombo as a small carpentry shop and was renowned among the villagers for furniture & civil construction services. Amidst many obstacles that arose in the beginning Mr.Nimal Rathnayake, the Director/ CEO of DecoLab, incurred determined efforts to pave the way for the business to flourish, step by step and his work experience, skills, knowledge acquired in the Middle East countries as a carpenter was quite an asset for the long-run of the business. In 2014, his one and only son, Mr. Ishan Rathnayake joined hands with him after completing his BSc. Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering and assisted him to drive the business towards a common goal by adding a sense of extravagance & novelty for the products and services offered by the homegrown business.
In 2017, the company was renamed as ArcEng Interiors, where innovative interior solutions were catered which in turn led to a turning point for the success of the business as our authentic, luxurious, innovative products & services offered attracted a substantial clientele base.
However, with the boom of digital technology directors decided to shift from the traditional business model of selling customized interior items and rebranded the business as ‘DecoLab’.
